Responsibilities

Meritage Homes (Meritage) is looking for an IT Intern to support all internal users of Meritage’s IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in technology and business, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful individual will be able to respond to changing priorities on a daily basis and have a constant desire to grow their skillset.

 

The IT Intern will:

  • Work closely with the internal development team to develop test scripts for regression and integration testing
  • Document current and future IT/business processes and procedures
  • Resolve high level application issues for internal employees and external stakeholders
  • Become proficient in Salesforce Administration through online courses and on-the-job training

 

This is a 'temporary' full time position, up to 40 hours per week.  Flexible schedule, will work with candidates who are currently in school regarding schedule.  Primary hours will be anywhere between 6 AM - 7 PM MST.  

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
  • Is able to manage expectations with multiple company functions
  • Able to sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, etc.

The following knowledge or skills are preferred:

  • High level understanding of Object Oriented Programming
  • Basic knowledge of integration technologies and capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems
  • Familiarity with agile and project methodologies and processes
  • Working experience with an IT ticketing system (JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.)
