Responsibilities

Meritage Homes is looking for a Finance Analyst for our DFW/Irving Division.  This person will:

  • Prepare and review annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts
  • Assist feasibility modeling for land acquisition transaction
  • Assist due diligence research and assist with land acquisition packages
  • Prepare supplementary reports and analyses for management
  • Update divisional key indicator reports
  • Prepare and review weekly Gross Margin Backlog Reports
  • Assist with pricing updates, lot releases, MLS updates
  • Prepare monthly lot takedown reports and coordinate lot takedowns with sellers and title companies
  • Assist with quarterly corporate reporting
  • Prepare monthly Proforma updates and provide written variance explanations
  • Coordinate monthly budget meetings with other departments

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required (or in process)
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Auditing experience a plus
  • Advanced computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Windows Office applications, high-level Excel user
  • Ability to generate spreadsheet models efficiently and scenario analysis
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting/forecasting software.  SAP/Business Objects experience preferred
  • Strong written/oral and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels in the organization, with a customer service focus
  • Ability to write and communicate complex information and procedures in an easily comprehensible manner
  • Frequent interaction with other departments and divisions, as well as internal and external auditors
