This position is responsible for managing the day to day activities to assist and support the Production manager, Production department, Operations initiatives and company business goals.


  • Perform and execute daily operating procedures and Production Coordinator job duties.
  • Work with municipalities and there staff to submit, track and acquire all permits and other documents needed for Meritage Homes building operations.
  • Work with CAD services companies and their staff to submit, track and acquire all plot plans and other documents needed for Meritage Homes building operations.
  • Maintain clear and accurate reporting of internal tracking tools
  • Use Hyphen BuildPro to manage job set up, building start release and support internal and external users.
  • Assist with all SCI reports, forms, documents, task and requirements.
  • Support the Production Manager in areas of research and reporting to meet expected business goals by utilizing all available resources.
  • Assist in facilitating dialogue and reports between the main office and construction as it pertains to starts, plot plans, permits, water meters, and all other supporting documents.
  • Help minimize and identify plot plan and permitting problems with daily updates of discrepancies and cycle time changes.
  • Document, tract and report out all building permit and start activities.
  • Assist with BuildPro scheduling and maintenance
  • Office organization and filing
  • Attend assigned meetings with divisional team members as required
  • Report directly to the Production Manager.


Education:  Minimum High School Diploma, or equivalent  


Experience: Experience in an office support position preferred

  • Prefer a construction background and experience/knowledge in the homebuilding industry

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, or equivalent is preferred
  • Proficiency in Math

Communication/Interpersonal Skills:

  • Good Oral/Written Communication and Interpersonal Skills, ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner     
  • Ability to gather information and generate documents with accuracy
  • Daily interactions with Trade Partners, construction personnel, Sales, Design Center, and employees at all levels of the organization   
  • Ability to handle the stress of dealing with trades, and react favorably to resolve issues in a positive manner
  • Team Player; and demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams  


  • Must exercise sound judgment
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate results in every aspect of the job
  • Self-starter who takes initiative; must understand both vague and implicit instructions and perform duties under general direction

  • Analytical; with the ability to give, receive, analyze information, and interpret complex issues in order to determine the root problem and make effective decisions to bring the issue to a successful conclusion
  • Highly organized and flexible; with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines, often with frequent interruptions and changing circumstances, in ahigh-volume fast-paced work environment

Work Environment:                                    

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.  Local travel to municipalities required.  Must have reliable vehicle.
